SUCCESS in Brussels

04

The European Commission and the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) organised an “Infoday” on 3 March 2016 in Brussels to inform potential applicants about the Erasmus+ Sport, its funding opportunities and the EU sport policy background.

The event was opened by the European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, Tibor Navracsics. Speakers discussed policy, gave advice and tips on preparing and submitting proposals, and provided support with the financial aspects of funding. There was a chance to network and meet potential partners as well as see examples of past Erasmus+: Sport success stories.

As a part of the “Infoday”, the round table on successful project was organised to present good practice examples. Invited speakers were:

  • Teemu Lakkasuo, Finnish Sports Association for Persons with Disabilities, Finland;
  • Alma Papić, Croatian Olympic Committee, Croatia; and
  • Hubert Rovers, European Football for Development Network, The Netherlands.

The SUCCESS project was presented to various stakeholders from the European world of sport with the emphasis on the methodology used to develop the project and ensure its success.

It was a valuable opportunity to raise the profile of the project and promote the importance of good governance in sport in Europe. We are looking forward to similar opportunities in the future.
