Selected participants from Lithuania

National Olympic Committees have completed the selection of participants of the Sport Management Training Programme 2016-2017. The selection was ruled by criteria set in the brochure “Sport Management Training Programme” which was published on 14 March 2016 together with the Call for proposals.

Target group were women in sport organisations who were identified as future leaders in sports by their sport organisations. They had to meet the following basic minimum criteria:

  • Work with sport organisation as paid staff or volunteer;
  • Be endorsed by their NOC;
  • Have a University degree or comparable professional experience;
  • Have sufficient skills to effectively follow the selected course of study;
  • Be in a leadership position in sport organisation, e.g. president, board member, secretary general or director, or in a decision-making position at the lower level in sport organisation, e.g. less senior member of staff or volunteer who had responsibility for managing projects in the sport organisation.

 

The call was open until 11 April 2016. Afterwards, candidates were interviewed by the representative of own National Olympic Committee who evaluated candidates’ leadership potential before making a decision.
