Project kick-off

Representatives of partner organisations held their first meeting on 22-23 February 2016 in Zagreb, Croatia. The kick-off meeting was organised by the Croatian Olympic Committee as the project coordinator. Partner organisations – National Olympic Committees – were represented by their employees actively involved in the project implementation as team members.
Team members were welcomed by the representatives of the Croatian Olympic Committee, Ministry of science, education and sport, and Agency for mobility and EU programmes.

 

Busy agenda included the presentation of project activities and division of tasks and responsibilities between project partners, decisions regarding the application process and selection of participants, development of the content of the sport management training sessions, development of the content of the brochure for candidates and their sport organisations, discussion on the terms of scholarship agreement, presentation of financial management, and a discussion concerning the implementation of planned activities.

 

Long hours of work left just enough time for a quick guided tour around the City of Zagreb which was organised by the host in the late afternoon on 22 February 2016, and followed by dinner in one of the finest restaurants that Zagreb has to offer.
On 23 February 2016 the Steering Committee was established and rules of procedure adopted. The Steering Committee members will monitor and evaluate the implementation of the project to ensure the quality and efficiency of the project implementation.
During the next three months, the main duty of the team members will be to select participants of the sport management training programme in their countries. The next meeting is planned for 1-3 June 2016 in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
